Is Power Washing Suitable for a Vinyl Fence?
Vinyl fencing is marketed as "low maintenance," but after a humid summer in North Houston, you might notice some green algae or dirt buildup. A power washer is a great tool for cleaning, but if used incorrectly, it can actually damage the finish of your fence.

Low Pressure is Key
You should never use the highest pressure setting on a vinyl fence. Too much pressure can "etch" the plastic or force water into the hollow posts. Use a "Soft Wash" technique: apply a mild soap or a 1:5 bleach-to-water solution, let it sit for 10 minutes, and then rinse it off using a wide-angle spray tip at a moderate distance.
