How to Accurately Measure Your Yard for Fence Installation
Before you can get an accurate quote for your new perimeter, you need to know exactly how much material is required. Measuring your yard in Magnolia or The Woodlands might seem straightforward, but accounting for slopes, gates, and property lines is where many homeowners run into trouble.

Step-by-Step Measurement Guide
Start by identifying your corner stakes. Use a long measuring tape (100ft is best) and walk the perimeter, recording the linear footage of each side. Subtract the width of any planned gates (usually 4ft for walk-gates or 10ft for drive-gates). If your property has significant elevation changes, tell your estimator, as "stepping" or "raking" a fence requires additional labor and material.
